Klopp: 'Liverpool will not collapse'

January 30, 2023

Coach Klopp promised the fans that Liverpool would not collapse for the rest of the season despite the disappointing results.

Klopp insists Liverpool will not collapse

Liverpool opened the scoring thanks to Harvey Elliott's strike on the trip to Brighton's Amex. But Lewis Dunk equalized in the first half. Brighton got the decisive goal when Kaoru Mitoma handled it brilliantly in the 92nd minute to turn Liverpool into a former king in the FA Cup.

This was Liverpool's 9th defeat in all competitions this season. They are going through a bad season when they are 21 points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League, eliminated from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. The Champions League arena becomes the only way that Liverpool can win the title, but they will meet the giants Real Madrid right in the 1/8 round.

Coach Klopp was pleased to see some improvement after the 0-3 loss to Brighton two weeks ago. The German strategist insists that the Liverpool players will unite together and continue to fight to save this season.

“We have our own moments. We are making progress, but we need to improve. You have to respect what the players have done, it's really good. There are steps in the right direction, we will move forward from there.

We'll try. We need to build. In terms of body language, some players have done much better. In the last match we couldn't win, but today no one would be surprised if we won.

We will not fall. If we look broken, I'm sorry. We didn't crash at the end of the game, but mostly inhibited, because the players had to get yellow cards. Things like that still happen.

Back after the World Cup, we wanted things to be better. But then the story did not go smoothly. However, it just means we have to keep working. There were a couple of very good performances today.

I'm not too happy with the overall performance today. But it's much better than 2 weeks ago.

I totally understand when people say we're not having fun in games. I apologize to the Liverpool fans. Today we paid back a little bit of their faith but we were still out, and it was the worst result of a game."
